The American Psychological Foundation has named Sandra L. Shullman, PhD, recipient of its 2016 Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Practice of Psychology.

The award recognizes a distinguished career and enduring contribution to advancing the professional practice of psychology.

Shullman is a Columbus, Ohio-based partner in the Executive Development Group, headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. The firm provides executive coaching and leadership consulting to global organizations and leadership education through international business schools and other global enterprises.

Shullman will be presented with the APF Gold Medal Award at the APA Annual Convention in Denver, Colorado, August 6, 2016. Announcement of this award, along with a citation of Shullman will appear in the Awards issue of the American Psychologist.

About Sandra L. Shullman, PhD

Shullman is internationally known in leadership and executive assessment and development and manages large and long-term corporate clients for the Executive Development Group (www.edgp.com). In this capacity, she teaches leadership in the HEC School of Business for its EMBA programs in Paris, Doha, Shanghai and Beijing, and is also a member of the DukeCE Global Resource Network of faculty.

Shullman holds a bachelor’s degree (mathematics) from Dickinson College, a master’s degree from Harvard University and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Ohio State University. Previously she taught in the Kent State University Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program and the Cleveland State University Diversity Management Program.  She also lectured and facilitated leadership development programs for over 15 years at the John Glenn School of Public Management at The Ohio State University.

Shullman currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Psychological Association and Chair of the APA Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology.
